JAKE STIMPSON | MARK 4 | JESUS CALMED THE STORM | GOD | MAN | POWER | WORSHIP | AUTHORITY
We all get it that Jesus is both God and man, right? We’ve all heard it. It’s a settled issue. Why are we reiterating what everybody already knows? The fact that Jesus is both fully God and fully Man is one of the most startling, amazing, unbelievable realities of the second member of the Trinity, something that should bring you to love and worship Him as He deserves.
JAKE STIMPSON | MARK 4 | JESUS CALMED THE STORM | GOOD SHEPHERD | SHEEP | PHILLIP KELLER
1 Peter 2:24-25 – “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.” If Jesus is the Good Shepherd, how should we respond to Him? What does this mean for our lives?
JAKE STIMPSON | MARK 4 | JESUS CALMED THE STORM | LAMB OF GOD | SACRIFICE | BLOOD | DEATH | SIN
We’ve all heard that Jesus is the Lamb of God… But what does this mean? To understand better, we’ve got to go back to the Old Testament, where God laid down the pattern that having a relationship with Him required sacrifice.
JAKE STIMPSON | MARK 4 | JESUS CALMED THE STORM | KING | JUDGE | JUDGMENT DAY | KING OF KINGS
Have you ever felt condemned for your failures? Have you ever felt like things are out of your control? Do you ever feel concerned about the future, where the world is headed or where you are headed? You need to know that Jesus alone is the King and the Judge.
JAKE STIMPSON | MARK4 | JESUS CALMED THE STORM | HEALER | DELIVERER | HEALING | DELIVERANCE
Everywhere Jesus went, two of His activities stood out above the rest. Everywhere He went, He healed the sick and cast out demons. In His very nature and heart, God is a healer and a deliverer. He wants you to have abundant life and to be free from every power of the enemy, which includes sickness and demonic oppression.
JAKE STIMSON | MARK 4 | JESUS CALMED THE STORM | LORD | KURIOS | MASTER | BOSS | EMPEROR NERO |
Jesus came to save you out of one kingdom and into another, out of slavery to sin and death and into service to the King of Kings. He’s the Savior, but He’s also the Lord. Have you surrendered to His Lordship, or are you hoping for His saving without surrendering to His expectations on your life?
JAKE STIMSON | MARK 4 | JESUS CALMED THE STORM | SAVIOR | LORD | DEATH | SIN | HELL | POWER OF SIN
Everyone knows Jesus is the Savior, right? From South Park to Elvis Presley to Neil Diamond, our culture is rife with statements to that effect. We talk about “getting saved.” And it seems like every pop icon, moviestar, and athlete feels the need to “thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” In reality, I think we use the word a lot but we’ve cheapened it to the point where we don’t really know what it means. And we don’t really live like it’s real.
JAKE STIMSON | NAMES OF GOD | NAMES OF JESUS | MARK 4 | JESUS CALMED THE STORM
Psalm 9:10 – “Those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.” Jesus, as a Divine member of the Godhead, is known in the Bible by many names, titles, and metaphors. What are they and what do they say about Him?
JAKE STIMSON | JESUS | STORM AT SEA | MARK 4 | MIRACLES | POWER | AUTHORITY | AFRAID | FEAR OF GOD
In Mark 4, Jesus and His disciples are crossing the Sea of Galilee when a massive storm arises. It’s so big and so furious that these veteran fishermen are scared for their lives. They wake up Jesus, exhausted from a long day of hard work, and beg him to help. He takes a look at the storm and tells it to stop. Instantly, the wind and waves obey and the weather calms. When they see this, the disciples look at each other and ask, trembling with fear, “Who is this man?” Many of us have a small picture of Jesus. Like the disciples, we need our eyes opened to see just how incredible and powerful He is.
