A NORMAL CHRISTIAN LIFE: 7 STEPS TO WALKING IN POWER - BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
Jesus promised the Holy Spirit would fill His disciples, telling them, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'” If you’re thirsty, unsatisfied, and feeling empty in your Christian life, maybe you need to get filled with the Spirit.
A NORMAL CHRISTIAN LIFE: 7 STEPS TO WALKING IN POWER - A BALANCE OF THE WORD AND THE SPIRIT
A normal Christian life includes walking in supernatural power, doing the works that Jesus did. How do we get there? How can we begin to walk as Jesus walked? Listen to “7 Steps to Walking in Power.”
Though Jesus calls us to walk in power and authority, to move in signs and wonders, many Christians believe the gifts of the Spirit have passed away and have no place in the modern world. Known as cessation theory, it’s a teaching that pervades much of western Christianity. What’s the deal with this theory? What does it teach and what does the Bible say about it?
Jesus called us to walk in the supernatural power of God, yet it seems like so few are actually living that way. What’s the problem? Why does it seem so difficult for us to get it? Check out Part 3 of “A Normal Christian Life” to learn more about overcoming obstacles to living in the miraculous power we’re called to.
Why don’t more people walk in supernatural power like the early church? Why does it seem like so few people are healing sick, raising the dead, and doing what Jesus called the church to do? If you’re struggling with the supernatural, it could be your worldview doesn’t leave room for it.
What does it mean to be a “normal” Christian? Is it all about being nicer, friendlier, and a little more holy? Or did Jesus have something else in mind? John 14:12 says “Whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do.” It’s time to take these words of Jesus seriously.
