In a world ruined by sin and the power of the enemy, God has one answer to solve the world’s problems – the church, His people, filled with His Spirit and shining as lights in a dark world. That’s not arrogance or pride, just the reality of our calling in the Bible and the historical facts. Throughout history, despite our mistakes and weaknesses, the church has been an immeasurable force for good, bringing God’s blessing to the earth wherever it advances. And as that church moves forward, person by person, the gates of hell don’t stand a chance.

While our culture has become increasingly antagonistic toward the church, the church in many ways has retreated from our high calling to be salt and light. Rather than bringing restoration, hope, and light into dark places, we’ve surrendered to the critics, stood back in timidity, and complained about the problems instead of fixing them. It’s time we as the church stop holding back in fear and selfishness. It’s time to step into our calling and bring healing and hope to a world in despair.

Rather than being simply another meeting to go to, the church as God envisioned it is the hope of the world. We are called as the temple of God, where the Holy Spirit of God Himself dwells. We are the body of Christ, a mystical, miraculous union of God and mankind, carrying the authority of God because we are united with God. We are the pillar and foundation of truth, a kingdom of priests, making the wisdom of God known to the world.
