ESTABLISHING CHURCHES 2 - A NEW KIND OF COMMUNITY

JAKE STIMPSON | CHURCH-PLANTING | CHURCH | COMMUNITY | KOINONIA | ACTS 2 | ACTS 4 | LOVE | FELLOWSHIP

The New Testament picture of church is more than a building with a steeple and stained glass windows. It’s more than a weekly religious service. It’s a life-changing, devil-stomping, sin-crushing community of love.

RAISING UP LEADERS

RAISING UP LEADERS 3 - WORLD'S GREATEST LEADER

JAKE STIMPSON | LEADERSHIP | EQUIPPING THE SAINTS | TRAINING | ADVENTURE | SERVANT | CRITICS

When you think of history’s greatest leaders, who comes to mind? Maybe great men or women like George Washington, Winston Churchill, Mother Teresa, or Martin Luther King. Steven Covey defined leadership as “communicating to people their worth and potential so clearly that they are inspired to see it in themselves.” With this definition, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better leader than Jesus, a man who took 12 average guys and created a 2000-year-old organization that has spread to every corner of the planet. So what were Jesus’ leadership qualities? How can we be a leader like Him?

RAISING UP LEADERS 2 - SOLDIERS, ATHLETES, AND FARMERS

JAKE STIMPSON | LEADERSHIP | EQUIPPING THE SAINTS | TRAINING | ROMAN SOLDIERS | OLYMPIC GAMES

2 Timothy 2:3-6 – “Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him. An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops.” To pursue your calling in God and carry the burden of leadership is not going to be easy. In fact, it’s going to take a lot of hard work, suffering like a Roman soldier, giving it your all like an Olympic athlete, working long hard hours to get a harvest like a farmer.

Raising Up Leaders 1 – A New Concept of Leadership

RAISING UP LEADERS

RAISING UP LEADERS 1 - A NEW CONCEPT OF LEADERSHIP

JAKE STIMPSON | LEADERSHIP | EARLY CHURCH | BOOK OF ACTS | EQUIPPING THE SAINTS | TRAINING

When Jesus launched His church, it was a kingdom operating under radical new concepts of leadership. Rather than finding leaders from among the nobility, the skilled, the strong, or any number of other criteria, Jesus found His leaders from among normal people coming from all walks of life. He took them, with all their hang-ups, imperfections, and flaws, and raised them up to become pillars in His new Kingdom. This was a radical new concept of leadership, one that is ingrained in the DNA of the church to this day. So what are you going to do about it? Will you let Jesus raise you up to carry the burden of leadership in His church? Or will you let others have all the fun? 🙂

MAKING DISCIPLES 2 - THE CALL TO MULTIPLY

JAKE STIMPSON | MAKING DISCIPLES | GREAT COMMISSION | GLORY OF GOD | MULTIPLICATION | BE FRUITFUL

From the very beginning of creation, God’s heart has been to multiply His glory until it fills the earth. How did He decide to do this? By creating people, crowned with glory and honor, invested with His image, and giving them a passion to be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, bringing His glory everywhere they go (Genesis 1:28). This is the ultimate goal of making disciples, to spread the glory of God throughout the earth and throughout the generations.

PREACHING THE GOSPEL 8 - TOOLS, TIPS, & TRACTS

JAKE STIMPSON | VISION | PREACHING THE GOSPEL | EVANGELISM | STYLES | TYPES | TRACTS

In the Welsh Revival of 1901, over 1 million people were added to the Kingdom of God. Whole cities were transformed. Churches were packed. Bars closed. Crime vanished. Police had nothing to do so they traveled the country in Gospel quartets. And the most amazing thing of all is that this transformation came in large part from unknown and unnamed men and women of God who simply preached the Gospel however they could, people like the illiterate farmer’s wife who led 70 neighbors to Jesus. Today, we wrap up the “Preaching the Gospel” portion of the Cornerstone Vision with “Tools, Tips, and Tracts.”

PREACHING THE GOSPEL 7 - PREACHING IN POWER

JAKE STIMPSON | VISION | PREACHING THE GOSPEL | POWER | HOLY SPIRIT | HEALING | MIRACLES | DUNAMIS

Romans 15:18-19 – “For I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me to bring the Gentiles to obedience — by word and deed, by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God — so that from Jerusalem and all the way around to Illyricum I have fulfilled the ministry of the gospel of Christ.” Want to preach the Gospel in a way that sees results? Do what Paul did. Preach “by word and deed, by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God.” Allow the Holy Spirit to move in you and through you, and you will be amazed at what He will do.
