KNOWING GOD - PART 1
JAKE STIMPSON | ETERNAL LIFE | RELATIONSHIP | MOSES | IDOLS | PRAYER | BIBLE STUDY| PILIPPIANS 3
When Moses was up on the mountain meeting with the Eternal Living God Himself, the people down below were… worshiping a statue of a cow? Yep. They told God they didn’t want a relationship with Him and instead would give their time and energy to… a cow. As easy as it is to pick on the Israelites for their less-than-classy choice, we often do the same. God has called us to a dynamic, living relationship with Him, yet so often we get sucked into things that don’t really matter. Time to get back to devoting ourselves to knowing God.

“The widespread failure to recognize and to appreciate the humor of Christ is one of the most amazing aspects of the era named for Him.” – author Elton Trueblood, in The Humor of Christ. Contrary to how most of us view Him, Jesus not only spoke deep truth, but He did so in a way that was remarkably funny. If you read the Gospels and don’t crack a smile or laugh on occasion, you’re missing something.

JAKE STIMPSON | MATHEW 16:18 | NOT BY MIGHT | GATES OF HELL | PAN | IMMORALITY | SELFISHNESS
In Matthew 16:18, Jesus took His disciples to Caesarea Philippi, a city dedicated to the false gods of unrestrained immorality, authoritarian government, and selfish ambition. There he made a remarkable statement – “I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” It was true when He said it, and it’s still true in our day, when those three same false gods are rearing their heads.

TEN SIMPLE THINGS - PART 1
JAKE STIMPSON | EXERCISE | CLEAN YOUR ROOM | GENEROSITY | SUCCESSFUL LIFE | MONEY | BE STILL
When my wife and I bought a house, we kept the garage door opener in a location which meant that sometimes the signal opened the door and sometimes it didn’t. We got into the habit of clicking the opener, then going outside to see if the door had closed or not. It was frustrating and inefficient. After brainstorming all sorts of convoluted and expensive contraptions to deal with the problem, we eventually resigned ourselves to an annoying “first world problem.” Until the day we realized we could actually just move the opener to a location that worked. It took us two years to figure it out, but that one simple thing changed our lives. Many times, the problems in your life seem so complicated, but if you get some simple things right, everything can change.

There is within us a cry for justice… but what does this justice look like? Where will it come from? Who ultimately can determine what is just and what is unjust? Are the modern proponents of Social Justice on the right track, or are they just as misled as the evils they claim to be combating? Psalm 72 shows us Jesus’s heart to bring true righteousness and justice on the earth.
