Paul prayed for the Ephesians to be “filled with all the fullness of God.” How can we, mere flesh and blood humans, be filled with every bit of the infinite, all-powerful Living God? What would it look like if we were?

Jesus promised, “Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, „Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:38) So why do we so often feel dry, discouraged, defeated, and disoriented? We too often depend on our own wisdom or strength, which leaves us coming up short. We need to get out of the way and let the Holy Spirit come and fill us.
Elijah was a man who moved in incredible supernatural power. Jesus promised that before He would return, Elijah would also return. What did He mean? Are we to await the coming of a mystical witness before Jesus’ return? Or are we, the church, supposed to move in the spirit and power of Elijah?
Jesus promised the Holy Spirit would fill His disciples, telling them, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'” If you’re thirsty, unsatisfied, and feeling empty in your Christian life, maybe you need to get filled with the Spirit.

God has a call on your life to change the world – no matter who you are or where you’ve come from. Jesus took me from a place of not knowing anything about Him… to pastoring in Oconomowoc, planting churches in Romania, and reaching the lost in Milwaukee.
